Hi there! I am an official 20something from Alabama. I am an undergraduate at the University of Alabama, studying public relations and political science with a minor in the computer-based honors program. I have an amazing family with incredible parents, two awesome older brothers & a new sister-in-law, and a cute kitty named Snoopy.
I love life – I love reading, writing, traveling, meeting new people, having fun, diet soda, trying new things, getting things done, and helping people! I also have been living with and learning from type 1 diabetes for six years. I have a purple insulin pump and am passionate about volunteering with the American Diabetes Association. Any questions? Ask me about it! I also have celiac, which means I’m learning to cook (hrmph) and eating gluten-free(GF).
I get frustrated when people think life is always the same. You can ALWAYS take action and make a difference. Additionally, I believe that no two people are the same and everyone should be respected and celebrated for their differences. I am optimistic, enthusiastic, lively, and an adrenaline junkie that won’t take “no” for an answer when I believe in it!
This blog is just exploring some of my life and the things I consider important. They may be random, crazy, deep or not; but it’s all 100% part of my life as a 20something with type 1.
